The Institute for Matter and Systems Materials Characterization Facility (MCF) is the primary facility for materials analysis at Georgia Tech. While the core lab and facility leadership are in the Marcus Nanotechnology Building, the MCF has facilities located across Georgia Tech’s campus.

Getting Started

Request Access: New users must complete onboarding and training. Start by visiting the Shared User Management Systems (SUMS).

Schedule Instruments: Once approved, you can reserve time on instruments through SUMS
