The MCF hosts a running image contest that resets quarterly. The current image contest will run through November 30, 2024.  In addition to displaying some of the imaging and analysis capabilities of our labs, it gives our users a chance to display their creative side. Check back here the first week of each quarter for updates on monthly awardees and twice a year – around mid-January and mid-May – to see the semiannual grand prize winners.

Three monthly winners of the contest will each receive 5 free hours on the characterization tool of their choosing, and the monthly winners will be entered into a semi-annual Grand Prize selection for cash prizes of $100 for First Prize and $50 for each of the two Second Prize winners. 

Winners will be notified by email. Grand prize winners will be selected twice a year, typically near the end of the school year in May and near the end of the calendar year in December.

Rules 

1) Images should not be previously published 

2) Images should be TIFF or bitmap where possible 

3) Images may be used by GT and/or its departments for promotional purposes. Your submission implies you have full author rights to submitted images and consent to IMS/GT  use and distribution of your images. 

4) Images are shared under Creative Commons Attribution license 

5) Photo enhancement -is- allowed, (e.g. coloration, added artistic touches, etc.) but the original image details should not be altered 

6) Up to four entries will be accepted per user per month
